Default Valve Discoloration

I was inspecting my valves and I noticed that just one of them has turned white, I'm guessing it has some soert of build up from getting too hot. Visual inspection tells me that the valve is seating fine, and I was not having any engine ssues prior to the dismantle. I'm wondering how much of an issue would it be of I didn't replace it. The bike only has 10k it. Would I be taking a huge risk

are you referring to an intake or exhaust valve or both? face or back side?

could be oil burning or running too lean on that cylinder. pictures would help a lot.
but why did you take apart a motor with 10k and no issues?

the white stuff is most likely coolant that has leaked. you don't need to replace the valve, but you may want to repair the source of the leak.

FYI: Suzuki GSXRs are notorious for having issues with the water pump seals.

The discoloration is on the outside of the exhaust valve. I will post a picture here shortly. I took it apart for a number of reasons primarily because it was stolen and the guy who had it did a bunch of mods to the bike that I did not trust. Also it was winter, I couldn't ride, and I was curious.

White exhaust valves are normal on a clean running engine as long as you don't see build up, cracking, or pitting I think it's fine. From what I remember the exhaust valves on my truck were white and clean when I changed my headers. How do the other exhaust valves look?

The rest of the exhaust valves look fine. It is only the one valve that is white. It does not look to be damaged, I just found it odd that it was the only one that color.

They look fine, don't really look that white to me, maybe it's the camera? If you google white exhaust valves you'll see one's whiter than yours and the consensus is that it's fine, this page has a good pic http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/whit...es-pics-39401/. My trucks exhaust valves were white when I put headers on it, it's been running fine 15k miles since.
