USDM vs JDM/EDM and other markets
When I was much more involved with cars, there was enthusiasm regarding fitting factory parts that were not available here. So when I had my BMW M3, it was all about finding rare Euro-spec parts and fitting them to the car. Aero parts, drivetrain, lighting and electronics etc. Some parts were considered an upgrade, others simply aesthetic. I guess we like things we aren't supposed to have. Little stuff would feel like a big impact such as converting to the European style coolant reservoir. In our version it was located behind the radiator, prone to cracking from all the heat cycling near the engine and was not self bleeding. The Euro reservoir was located at the firewall, away from heat and used hard coolant lines as opposed to all rubber, plus was self bleeding. We had ****ty plastic headlight housings, upgraded those to Euro-spec glass headlight housings.
Is there anything like that within the CBR community? I have a digital copy of the owner's manual and I believe it's from the UK as it shows different parts and controls on the levers and talks about HISS immobilizers which we don't have here and you can go to any locksmith to cut a blank key. Any cool stuff out there that's worth pursuing?

For most part, bikes are "World" models with pretty much same hardware all around. Some minor ECU programming changes for different petrol and emissions regulations in different regions. CA bikes got catalytic and O2-sensors before anyone else.
Only "cool" thing I can think of is non-U.S. bikes had left-hand switches which allows you you to turn off headlights, flash-to-pass momemtary brights, and hazard flashers.
