Turn indicator lights staying on?

Turn indicator lights staying on?
hey guys, Last night I finshed the install of my HID's and Hotbodies front flushmounts signals on my 02 F4i. When I turned the bike on, all the lights work fine with the exception of the fast signal blink which I expected. But now the turn signal indicator lights on the display stay on all the time, but still blink when I use the signals. Any ideas? The only malfunction I ran into was a blown headlight fuse when I used both High and Low beam HID's without the bike running. New fuse and it works fine and hasnt done it since.

I've only had similar problems with an integrated tail light... did you rewire something there too?
A blown fuse could indicate a short in the wiring. Shorts in the wiring can also cause stuff to stay on all the time... how much higher wattage are the HIDs compared to normal bulbs?

RE: Turn indicator lights staying on?
The HID's are 35W compared to standard halogens which are 55-65W. Factory turn signals use a ground wire and 2 hot wires, one for running light, 1 for blinking. I combined these two because the flushmounts only have 2 wires instead of 3. Has anyone done this for their front signals? they work fine but those damn indicators are on.[:@]

RE: Turn indicator lights staying on?
The problem is because you wire the two positive wires for the turn signal together.
The running light is sending a voltage back through the turn signal wire. That, in turn, is telling the indicator light that the turn signal is currently "on", thus lighting it.
You can solve the problem easily by adding a diode to each wire before connecting them together. It will prevent any voltage from one going back into the other. Easy breezy beautiful cover turn signals.
