Tuck mpg?

Tuck mpg?
I've been using my bike for commuting for the last couple months and getting about 45mpg on average. I almost never go into a tuck since the bikes sitting angle is so comfortable, thank god it's not a Suzuki.
Needless to say you'd get better milage from riding in a tuck position on the highway as the aero drag is an exponential function of speed. What I'm wondering is if anyone has actually tested how much of a difference through a full tank or two of constant tucking at similar speeds? I don't care about the few extra bucks it costs to sit up so I can't bring myself to do it that often but I'd be interested to hear a number if someone else has.

RE: Tuck mpg?
When I go to NY again I'll let you know. I spent 4 hours riding through northern maine with nothing to do but calculate fuel milage. In those 4 hours I could have done as near perfect as possible tuck no tuck mpg test as anyone could...
You might have to wait as I'm not going again for awhile./

RE: Tuck mpg?
In the winter I ride in a constant tuck to keep from turning into a frozen chainsickle but my mileage doesn't really change that drastically. I've never gotten the 45mpg that many of you seem to be getting ... but then again I don't care[8D] Not enough self-control to keep from punching it in the **** every so often. With conservative riding I generally can get up to 39mpg. In the winter maybe 42mpg if I don't hit it too much ... that cold air HP is just so schweeeeeeeeeet!!

i mean your just running around town and your going to tuck? i have to be doig at least like 80 for me to wana tuck in... thats just me. so i think you would only be able to test this if you went on long trips on the expressway, but then again whos not going to tuck at 80 or 90? thats alot of drag wear your *** out

RE: Tuck mpg?
I was ridding from Halifax-NS, through NB, ME, NH, MA, VA, PA and NY... about 5000km in 3 days. I was moving through ME and bored stiff... but when I got down into the green mountains, white mountains, adirondacs... it was all worth it.
And yes - I slabbed it... I wanted to get somewhere fast so I could enjoy the destination... typically I'm a back road tourer.
The joke/comment was that in ME on the slab I was doing a constant speed in near constant weather for 4 hours.... or at least two tanks of gas. One at tuck and one not tucked would give a good idea as to how much of a benefit tucking is.
