Default Top speeds

Ok I got lots of hassle when I posted something similar on a car forum(even though its a sports car?) So the question is how fast is your bike? i know its not big or clever blah blah blah...but i didnt buy a bike to tootle around at 30mph on it......

ok ive had a 132mph out of mine. Stock cbr with k and n air filter and irridium plugs. i felt she had a bit more...possibly to 140mph? But i heard of 160mph on these?

thoughts?

Some misc guy walking into a gas station as I'm leaving- "Ah, an old F4i. Had one of those up to 180 back in the day."

I politely nod my head and go about my day.

165mph with stock gearing at redline. Not sure why it matters what anyone has done, top speed is a mathmatical equation based on gearing and revs.

Guys, remember that unless you have a correctly calibrated SpeedoHealer or the equivalent, those numbers you see on the display can read 5-10% or more higher than your actual speed.

Yup, unless you have a GPS onboard that give you decent actual speed.

Really top speed means little when no place to ride would allow that kind of speed legally and safely without endangering yourself or others and plenty of other machines are capable of much more.

IMO, top speed in a straight line just seems boring when compared to taking corners and exploring the limits... even at parking lot speed, achieving max lean angle is more thrilling than going in straight line.

116mph on mine, ill never do it again. I grabbed the clutch at 112 and it still went to 116 before it slowed down. i like my bike and my life too much to do it again. 100mph is cool for me.
