tires
#11
Depends on what type of riding you are doing. Just sit back and actually think about what you plan on doing with the bike the majority of the time. Then pick the tire. There are several videos out there explaining compounds and tread patterns on tires. Don't just pick a "Michelin PP2ct" because someone said thats what they use. I would never suggest that tire to anyone that doesnt visit the occasional track day. Even if you are slicing through some "killer twisties" it's complete overkill for street use.
To the OP, if you only commute and don't do much aggressive cornering than a sport touring tire would be best. It would last longer and be better in the rain. I don't have any experience with them though.
If you're quite aggressive or ride on the track occasionally then the following are all fantastic:
- Michelin Power Pilot 2CT (discontinued but people still have them and sell them at great prices)
- Michelin Power Pure (replaces the 2CT)
- Pirelli Corsa III (discontinued)
- Pirelli Rosso Corsa (replaces the Corsa III)
- Dunlop Qualifier 2
