tips for removing oil filter

I like K&N oil filters because they have a 17mm nut on the end that makes removing a piece of cake.

they sell the "jar tool" at auto parts stores as a filter wrench
it's not rocket science
i picked one up a few years back at auto zone

Here is the million cent question, how you do take it off without spilling oil on the exhaust?

Here's another little tip for changing your oil. What I do is take a piece of aluminum foil, shape it to direct oil away from pipes & into pan. Works like a charm & keeps everything clean.

Even with the foil I managed to spill oil on the headers so I just did the change and cleaned up the mess, whatever was left over gets burned off anyway.

Now that I see that, I might have to go to home depot and fabricate something
