Break the engine in wrong and let it sit for at minimum 9yrs since new and yes, the rings could not be sealing well. I have 70,000 miles on my bike and I've gotten around 45mpg the entire life of the bike unless I'm at the track or riding a canyon like a track.

I used to get bet 100-120 before the light would come on. Recently, I changed the stock air filter and replaced it with K&N. I did a recent ride from south florida to the keys (south south florida) and got 205 miles out of a full tank until bone dry. I carried extra fuel in a tube so that I could accurately measure a full tank.

Its the most boring drive/ride one can endure. 35mph and littered with FHP. 205 is impressive though

I've always wanted to try that. I've gone like 35miles past full empty according to my reserve gauge so I know its not even close to accurate.

It can be. I go more for the scenery, and when I need to try out new upgrades on the bike. It is a more relaxing ride then anything.

Yeah, that sounds way off. My low fuel indicator is not working, so I am always paranoid about running out of fuel. So I wanted to know how far I can push it on a full tank.
