Tank Protector

RE: Tank Protector
My theory on tank protectors is why cover all the pretty paint with an ugly tank bra just for the purpose of protecting the paint so it doesn't get ugly. It's kind of like saying you're going to cover your car in mud so a bird doesn't crap on it.
That being said, less is more.
My local bike shop sells sheets of clear, slightly adhesive, thin sheets of dense plastic that you can cut out yourself and put on the major contact areas of the bike. It's clear so it will allow the underlying paint to fade at the same rate as the surrounding paint. If it starts getting ugly I can just pull it off and cut out another piece.

RE: Tank Protector
i have a motrax tank protector which goes right down the middle where your zippers would go and scratch the paint. .matches the bike nicely since its is gray/black
i did used to have a cf on there but it delaminated and the cf started to come apart so i replaced it with a rubber one
