Tail light wiring issue/ crank but no cluster power
I recently bought a cheap Amazon led tail light. It only had 5 wires. A blue and yellow for the turn signals. A black red and yellow for daytime, brake and ground. I think I have 2 problems. Both turn signals don't work at all. I currently am not running front headlights or fairings. It was working before I replaced tail light. The 2nd problem is a crank and fuel pump working with a no start and no dash cluster power. No clock, no lights. Any help would be glady appreciated!
Questions:
1) Did you cut more than one wire at a time maybe blowing a fuse?
2) Did the tail/stop/signals work before without the headlight & fairing?
3) Have you taken apart all of your connections and tested them with a multimeter/test light?
4) Are you sure you have all the right colors to the right wires on the new light?
5) I think the tip/bank sensor is part of the headlight connector and the bike won't start/run without it.
I had been running with no headlights. i had jumped the pins for that. i figured the clock and dash would still work even if it didn't start.
1. i did blow 3 fuses and replaced them previously.
2. yes the tail liights worked with the headlight/front faring.
3.no i just tested the 2 connectors going to the cluster. both had no voltage.
4. no. i got the tail light and brake lights to work, though.
5. i jumped that
1. I did have 3 fuses blown. I replaced them.
2. Yes the previous tail lights worked without a the headlight and faring on the bike.
3. I did test the connectors going to the cluster I got no power to the cluster.
4. I'm pretty sure the tail light wiring is correct.
5. I jumped that pin. The bike was running without the headlight before now.
I had 3 blown fuses which I replaced before this thread started. I checked the wiring to the 2 connectors going to the cluster and they had no power. Bike still turns over and fuel pump primes. I checked the 20 and 30 Amp fuse as well. Any other suggestions?
I've tried to respond but my replys won't go through. All fuses look to be intact. Bike is turning over but not starting. The gauge cluster and clock have no power
