hey tahoe,i have been reading a lot about cct's and have seen what you said about punching that hole....i also thought someone around here said you could weld it to? i was just trying to get your input on that you seem to know alot about it....if not what size punch did you use? thanks man.....!

This ought to cover it. People probably aren't responding because it's been covered a lot of times on here. (Side note, I believe people will tell you it is the CCTL that is making the noise, which will be deemed different from the CCT) As for me, I have absolutely no opinion on the matter.

i didn't have a punch last time...so i used a nail...whatever you can get in there to flare out the pin. make sure you have the otherside flush against a hard surface or else you'll end up driving the pin out.

i wouldn't weld unless you are 100% sure that it will stick on and the welds will not flake off, cause it goes right to your motor...most likely clog up your oil passage or something...

remember, uncle buck from another forum came up with this technique...but what i've found out is that eventually, the noise will come back...and while the pin may still be tight, the noise will be coming from the shaft area instead...you can see a distinct line from wear...

thanks guys....im going to try and punch it this coming up sunday im also going to put my new chain and sprockets on.....ill let you know if it works for me! again thanks.....
