Default Switching to RR forks

Is it possible to swap out the stock 02 forks for the same year or newer RR forks?

1) There is no 02 600RR, so...

2) It is possible to do a swap, but it's not a simple bolt-the-forks-on-and-go. Pretty sure there's other parts you'd need to swap. What exactly, I dunno.

Well I sound like a dumbass lol, Does anyone know the details as to what it would take to switch to RR forks and if the 03 forks would fit?

alright here is a little info, first you basically need the whole forks, triples, calipers, and the wheel w/rotors. there is no easy switch because the RR forks are shorter and the rotors are bigger. if you do a search there is a tutorial on this mod. all in all there is not much gain other than appearence(the inverted forks themselves) so i leave you with my 2cents

Inverted forks on the 600RR came out in '05. I've heard of people using 929 forks also.

well honestly I am only looking for performance not so much appearance, I just figured the RR forks would pan out better seeing that they are on a bike that is "Race Ready," but I guess it would just be wise to keep the original forks and tune the suspension in for the track i.e. upgrading the springs, seals, ect. Thanks for the heads up

For performance it would be much better (IMO) to keep your stock forks and get them dialed in by a race suspension shop.

Bingo. Get them dialed, and if you still want something better, get upgraded internals (springs and such).

i just had ohlins .95 springs and the ohlins 20mil dampener and rebound kit installed, and im completely happy with that. it would cost you about 500 for these parts though.
