Default Swapping to a 929 front end??

I was wondering if anyone has any info on this? I have been thinking about doing it for a couple of obvious reasons, inverted forks and bigger brakes. I have heard its pretty much a direct swap but I was wonder how much of my stock front end can I still use and what parts from the 929 I would need. Clip ons? Brakes? Brackets? Fender? ect. Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

Mondo

I was informed today that the 929 front forks are compatible on the f4 and f4i with no problem. Thinking about getting me some. Also, I was told it handles like a dream with those inverted forks on there. Ebay it.

The only F4i parts that will work on the 929 front end are the calipers and hoses.
The 929 forks are much larger diameter, so the triple clamps and clip-ons
won't work. However the controls will slide right on.
There are some clearance issues with the 929 clip-ons and the F4i tank, that
is if you bring the forks all the way over to the stops.
I am going to use an aftermarket upper triple clamp with risers so that
I can use a Renthal handlebar instead of clip-ons, so the clearance won't
be an issue.
You might be able to change the bearings on your F4i wheel to a size
that will take the larger 929 axle, but I'm not sure.
I have heard that the front wheels are the same as far as the rotor
mounting hole spacing and the outside bearing diameter, but I can't
confirm it yet.
It's a cool mod for sure, especially if you do the 600RR swingarm conversion
and use a '01 - '03 subframe/seat/cowl, if you don't already have it.
Makes the bike look more current.
Good luck.

the angle of the two different forks wont work, the 929 has a different degree.

Anyone know if you can mount a CBR600RR front end? It would be nice to have the radial brake setup as well as the USD forks.
