Default Sumthin is Burnin!

so i laid my bike down about 2 weeks ago. (i know great way to start the story) after 2 weeks of it sitting in my garage i finally go out to observe the damage, aside from a cracked left fairing and bent clutch bar all looks well. I turn the bike on and after about 30 deconds black smoke starts comming out of the exhaust and it smells like something is burning, or about to be on fire!I turn the bike off and check all the fluids, everythings perfect. can anyone help?

Are you sure it wasn't BLUE smoke from oil in your cylinders burning off?
This goes away.

Where was the burning "smell" coming from? You should be able to tell what part of the bike it was from.

If the oil level is fine then run the bike again and report.

Your prob burning any oil that came from laying it down. Let it burn itself out and you should be fine.

It shouldn't take that long. The burning smell should go away unless you have another issue.

Don't know if you meant the burning smell was related to the exhaust- but if it smells like burning plastic wiring or if you see smoke from burning plastic wiring then find the source.
If all electricals work correctly and the oil level is fine then run the bike to normal operating temps and see what happens.
