Love all the red accents. Looking forward to the end result.

The wood was just to protect the caliper case from getting scratched and dented. You don't really need it on the piston side. Glad you got it freed up though, can't wait to see it finished man! I bet you are getting excited now?

I am getting excited, F3

Today was my day off, which means only one thing: Do work, Son!

To that end, I:

Got all the bolts torqued properly.
Installed the rear brakes and pads.
Installed the front brakes and pads.
Installed the exhaust (but then removed it because I realized the swingarm needs to come off to put the coolant reservoir in.) But not before punching myself in the nose trying to attach one of the springs.
Riveted the chain.
Installed the sprocket guard.
Installed the chain guard.

Of all the things I've done on my bike, riveting the chain is right near the top of the frustrating list. It probably took me two hours, and I only got the press plate aligned with the help of some spray adhesive. Many thanks to Incognito's chain swap thread for making it less frustrating, though.

I also learned a valuable lesson about swingarm decals: Without spools, the rear stands will screw them up. It's not too bad just yet, but it's noticeable and aggravating. I'll have to be careful and not use my stands more than I need to. I also dinged my swingarm in a few spots trying to rivet the chain, but I should be able to touch that up.

I found a spring attached to a wire that plugs into something near my kickstand. I've been really good through the whole rebuild labeling what stuff is and where it goes, but I lost track of this one. The pics is attached; can anyone tell me what it is?

Looks like the rear brake light switch to me. But if it is on the kickstand side then I can't be sure...

It could very well be, F3. A lot of the cables I shifted from one side to the other while I was painting, so it might have gotten moved over.

I'll check the manual for more detail. Thanks very much!

maybe it's just me but i think you need to do one more thing. Paint those forks!! they're the only goldish colored thing on the bike. And it'd be sweet if they were red or white, but black would be fine too. But i think you gotta paint them

It's not just you Tyfrist, I think I need to paint them too. I have a stange problem, though. My parking pass for school is attached, and if I take it off I can't get a replacement sticker. But, I'm going to have to buy a new one for next year in a month or two, so when I get my new one I'll strip the old one off, paint the forks, then slap em back on.

Thanks, also, Ern!

Man, I started tinkering with my undertail today.

I think I'm going to undo the passenger rearset turn signals and probably the front flushmounts too. I don't really need two sets of blinkers front and back, and I'd rather have them in the undertail / mirrors.

That said, this Bestem undertail is trash. Fitting is at least 1/2" off on the sides, so I'll either have to get creative with zipties or ... I dunno. I'm considering trying to return it for a Hotbodies. It's twice as much, and will set back completion by at least a week, but I hear they fit great. I just don't know that my fab skills are up to making this one work.
We'll see.

Yea my parking pass is on my fork too. you could attempt to peel it off with a thin blade and then tape it on for the last month or so.
