Default Stuck Trunk

So I finally got the bike from my buddy but with a stuck trunk. Pretty sure it's the lock that's broken, but for whatever reason I can't get it open. Are there any other ways to get in and pry the thing off? Can I get in from the bottom? I've only kind of looked at it, but it doesn't look like I can. I can semi pry the front of it up, but it's not going anywhere. Any ideas? It's a 2003.

Remove front seat and see if you can stick your arm up in the back area. You should be able to pull the cable to release the lock. I haven't tried it so if your arm doesn't fit, grab a coat hanger.

Your arm won't fit but you can disengage the latch by removing the front seat and pushing the latch open with a long screw driver

Yeah, my arm definitely won't fit in that gap. I got in there with a screwdriver, but couldn't get it to unlatch. I'll have to try again. Not sure if it's the lock that's stuck, or if it's the latch. Was hoping there was another way in from underneath, but from what I could tell, it's not possible without hacking away.

Can you get the tail light out without pulling the seat? Have to check that out. I'm storing the bike in my mom's garage until I get it running so I'm only going to have weekends to get a look at it.

I guess you can use an extended socket with a swivel head to reach the 2, 6mm nuts that hold the tailight in.....

Keep going at with with that screwdriver though.
