Strange squealing?
Hey guys, I tried to search, but couldn't find an answer. Picked up an 02 F4i with 15k on the clock. I noticed while riding, there is a squeal that I can hear. It's like a high pitched squeal that happens if I speed up, or ride over bumps. Usually starts around 20mph. I thought it may be the forks squeaking, so I took it into the garage and started rocking it back and forth while holding the front brake lever and there was no noise
. It happens more often if I give it a little more gas than normal. I know I've got the CCT issue, which is on order. Could that be causing it? I can't recreate the sound at all unless I'm riding. I've turned the handles back and forth, rocked the whole bike and can't make the noise. PO recently put on a brand new tire, if the chain was too tight, could it cause that (or too loose?)??

The chain being too tight will whine. Is your chain too tight? They like slack, and the proper amount.
Also check your brake hardware, the clips that the pad are held in with, and make sure they aren't dragging on the rotor.

I should mention it's more like a squeak lol. And it's not constant, it would be like "squeak squeak..pause for 2 seconds, then squeak squeak squeak, then pause again, and it keeps doing that.
