Default Stator temp

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but after a ride, is it normal for the stator cover to be too hot to touch?

The stator cover is still part of the engine, so it should be the same temperature as the other side (clutch cover).

Umm, I was wiping some dust off of the bike after a ride and the stator was super hot. Is that weird?! [:-]
