damn, you beat me to my definition of a squid...lol

To all the other riders. If you say you dont wear a jacket cause your just driving around town...what happens when you get ran off the road by a cage? You can ride safe, but that doesnt go for everyone else out there talking on cell phones, dealing with their rowdy kid in the back seat, eating, putting on makeup...etc... i say be ready to meet the road every time you ride...

I live in Atlanta. I wear jeans, Astars boots, gloves, helmet and jacket whenever I ride.

Doesn't matter if it is 100 degrees and humid, I wear my gear.

It was 78 degrees yesterday and I was out in full leathers.

Wear your gear, heat is no excuse.

I work for a rental yard who has a VERY active safety program. For the last three years, I have been the safety officer. With that being said, in my OSHA training, the instructor indicated that many industrial injuries occur when someone says, "I don't need to wear my safety glasses, I am making one cut", or, "I don't need to put on my seatbelt because I am just going across the yard". It is those times when you become complacent that get you into trouble. A quick ride to adult bookstore without your jacket on, or the appropriate footwear, could be a painful descision. Yes, it gets hot, and sometimes it is inconvenient, but there is a value to having all your parts function properly (especially after leaving the adult bookstore), and even more value to your walking around instead of pushing up the daisies...just ask your mom, wife, or kids.

+1+1+1+1+1 on that...its the way i ride everytime...a pain in the but carrying the extra gear sometimes, but worth it to ride safe everytime
