Sprocket question: rpm's @ 70mph
Hi guys,
Sorry for posting another sprocket thread, but I've searched for quite some time now (this forum & google) and I haven't found an answer to my question.
I'm thinking about changing the sprockets on my 01 CBR600 this winter.
My question is, how high does the bike rev with:
1) -1 + 2 @ 70mph
2) -1 + 3 @ 70mph
Thanks in advance!

Here's a way to do it:
Measure your rpm at stock at 70mph = R, say
Stock gearing is 16/46
-1+2 would be 15/48
new rpm at 70mph, Rnew=R*(16/46)*(48/15)
This is from the simple law of gearing. use a calculator and you're set!

i have 15/48 and in 6th gear at about 70.. I am about 6-7000 rpms. But when you change your sprockets your speedometer if usually off. Mine is about 10mph off. So I am going 80 according to my speedo and its about 6-7.
