Default Spark Plug Hole Rethread

Hi,

I did a search and found three similar topics. In reading those it has been mentioned that the spark plug hole is M10x1.0. Is this correct? I have also seen mentioned using repair kits that are M14x1.25. My bike is an 01 F4i and this morning it decided to blow the plug out. No warnings, just did it. I currently have the bike disassembled to a point that if I had the correct kit I could begin to repair it, I just need to know which kit is the correct one. I looked at the TimeSert kit but the M10x1.0, kit 4010 and 4010E do not come with inserts. Would the 4010 or 4010E be the correct kit?

Also, Timesert says that their measurement is different from Sparkplugs.com's measurement and to subtract 2.5mm from the length. This gives a 16.5mm "reach", and the closest insert is 16.8mm. Would a shorter insert work or would I need to get the kit that will use that length of insert?

Thanks for any and all help and suggestions.
