I'm not worried about the valves. I put on the PC III and loaded up the closest map that i could find. Next week I will be dyno tuning my bike and making changes to the map that I am using now to even better suit my bike.

I was refering to air filter, slip on, no cat!(hurting bike)not all that plus a powercommander with there map

Most all aftermarket pipes and air filters were designed to use with the factory mapping. The power commander just enhances it. You will be fine with out one but once you get it, you will be glad that you did

So even if you have a slip on with factor air filter do you still need the pc III? Cause it seems like this is a yes or no question but always gets every response or is it up to the rider.

K&N Filter and M4 Slip on w/o power commander for 2 years and no problems. It is not needed, it will only enhance or fine tune what you have.

No, I road mine for 2 summers with no probs with just a 2 bro slip on. The only advise I have is let bike warm up to over 140 before gettin it it, or you have a good chance of foulin plugs. I put K/N and PCIII on this winter and have only riden it twice with the map from PC. Need to get tuned. But you will be OK with just a slip on.

toss the K&N it's POS...
don't worry about burning valves, etc...it's not going to happen.
you will be fine, but the bike just won't perform as well or may not be as smooth. it's like this...if you want everything to be working good, so you get the max performance for your parts...but if not it's no big deal.

Get the PCIII anyway. Eeven without any other mods you will notice a big difference in throttle smoothness & response. Cooler running also by about 4-5 deg.
