Default Slip on install

OK, maybe this is a dumb/easy question, and I'm sorry if I'm an idiot, but I don't want to mess up.

Is the gasket for the slip on metallic, kinda soft lead-type stuff? If so, how do you get it off? It doesn't want to come off very easily, and it damages very easily too.

Please tell me what you know about this! I'd like to install it NOW!

Thanks.

OK...I just ended up ripping the thing off. It came off, but it came off ugly. This Yoshi pipe, from everyone I've asked, does not use a gasket at that joint.

I have an RT1 and it didn't use it either, glad to hear you got it off alright, enjoy taking it out, probably sounds pretty sweet

Yeah, installation is a snap - I'm just cautious about tearing anything up.

I think it sounds good...plenty loud for me. Throttle response is noticeably better.

You were definitely right...piece of cake - after you rip that gasket off.

Oh, and here's a pic of the bike with it installed. It tucks in pretty tight...allowing even greater lean angles (that I'll never achieve).
