sight glass question on 06'
asked before but got no answer. how much oil does it take in quarts to go from the low mark to the high mark on the sight glass? i'm changin my oil again (still breakin in the bike) and don't wanna overfill it. i'm gonna use the procedure of putting in 3 quarts, then running the bike to get the oil up to temp, then filling to the top mark. thanks all[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

make sure the oil level is near the upper mark when the bike is upright - not on the side stand. i've found that if it's at the lower mark on the sidestand, it will be at the upper mark when it is upright.
i also believe for an oil change it takes 3.5 quarts.

you really shouldn't be going off the sight glass, put in what the manual says wh/ is 3.5 qts.

Not sure what it takes to fill from the bottom marker to the top marker, but 3.5 qts puts it close to the top mark. As long as it's between the two marks, it's good to go. Also, definately check the oil level on level ground and if you don't have it on front and rear service stands, carefully rock it off the side stand and get it upright - or have someone sit on it to get it level while you check it.
