Love at First Sight.
In 1994, after departing with my CBR600F2 due to financial restraints, I set my mind on one day getting a CBR1000F (it was my dream bike). A few years later, much to my dismay, they ceased production... and my dream began to die a slow death. I thought I would probably end up with a Blackbird, yet it was the CBR1000F I was really after.
During the past year or so, I finally came to a position where I could get a bike (kids are growing up) and have been glancing over all the CBR1000F's that come on the market. Each one left me disappointed. Too much mileage, not looked after, left out in rain, modified etc. Am I fussy? Were you fussy when you chose your wife or husband? Of course I am. I figured I would have to restore a bike to its former glory, for they were not getting any younger. Think of the work. Think of the cost.
And then I found her.....
It was love at first sight! A 1998 CBR1000FX with 10,000 original kms (6,000 miles) on the clock and not a mark on her. Her previous owner washed her, waxed her, pampered her each and every weekend and hardly ever hit the streets with her. I'm talking showroom condition, down to the smell. She wasn't cheap, but she was worth it. Though they hardly do her justice, enjoy the photos.
