and i know teko doesn't like me so the fact that im getting advice from him on this topic is very kind of him (or her). So thank you for your opinion steering me away from a tire thats not going to last me and my type of riding. I would most likely not get PP2's but at least the suggestion brought up some different tires from the same manufacturer and I have been pointed in some other directions on where to look, for what some people beleive to be more reliable tires....

thanks guys

http://www.compacc.com/p.cfm/c/2009002/p/5720

that's what i'd get if i was in your shoes
they're great commuter tires bc they can handle just about anything you throw at them, not a track tire by any means but they'll do you just fine in some twisties unless you're crazy fast

they used to come stock on the 599 hornet

Which she? The bike or the baby girl? Careful with the timing there. You might finish the bike just in time to have to rush on it over to the hospital

As for the tires, this is getting to be a pointless argument. My personal feeling is Shinkos are fine for street / commuting. Would I use them in the twisties? Honestly, I dunno. I haven't found mine's limits yet. When I do, I'll be ble to judge whether those limits would be below what I'd find on a spirited ride.

I've run shinkos for a long time, I like the advance 005. They hook and last long, I wouldn't get the stealth or the raven. As far as the tomahawk, there ok for the price but I don't like the idea that they are recaps. Johnny
