Default Shinko Tire Help

I need a new set of tires but not looking to break the bank my riding is basically just in town riding and every now and then a few back roads, so I dont really need a super expensive tire as well so I was going to go with a new set of Shinko's off ebay but can anyone suggest a specific type of tire? And sizing, i dont know if off the top of my head....

120/70/17 is the stock front and 180/55/17 is the stock rear size, do any shops have shinkos in your area? here they are like 160 installed for a set

i understand that for sure, it just blows my mind how cheap they are here. if you put the new tires on yourself, paint the wheels afterwards bc theres a good chance you might chip the paint during installation

Go with Tomahawk tires, I have had a pair of those and Shinko and the shinko are straight up garbage. The Tomahawk run for $70 a tire and they sponsor AMA racers and Kane Friesen, who set the record for fastest endo on them

I have the Shinko 005 Advance. It's their medium compound tire, with a really weird tread pattern for wet. I haven't had an ounce of trouble out of mine riding the Philly streets and hitting 95. I've felt the tires in corners, both warm and cold, and know they've had more in them than I was asking.

Said it in other threads on this subject. A lot of the bad Shinko reviews seem to come from past usage and trying to make them into something they're not: track / twisty tires. If I were running through twisties every weekend, I'd prolly give them a go once or twice then pick up another type to compare. But commuting / riding around town, you're more likely to out-perform your local LEOs patience than the tires.

I get all my gear from Revzilla. They have a local store front so I can swing by to pick up whatever I order online. Mostly do that only to avoid overspending in their store (out $839 for a Dainese jacket last time I went in there looking for armored shorts)

I just got (end of last season) Pilot Powers 2CT front and back brand new for $250 shipped on ebay. look for deals, they are out there!

Are PP2cts overkill for road use? yes, especially because i never goto the track. But I never worry about the quality of my tires...

Mounted them myself, EASY!! There are a TON of DIY motorcycle tire mounting videos online. All you need is the curved style tire iron (two of them), a chopped up plastic bottle to protect your rim, and an air hose to seat the bead. DONE!, dont throw your money away at a shop or on crappy tires! Can't say it enough, TIRES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE MACHINE.

Also i used Dyna Beads to balance the tire. Just pour them in and go!.

Why on earth would you buy PP2's for town riding? I swear some people just buy tires because thats what their friends use.
