Default shim the rear or lower the front?

is it possible toshim the rear without unloading the suspension or can i just lower the front maybe 5mm to quicken the steering on my 06'. i don't want to run into any ground clearance issues. i was thinking 5mm in the front won't have me deckin the can. thanks

it would be faster to lower the front a bit...but for the rear, you can actually just add a washer to the top bolt of the shock mount to raise it up a little bit.

you should unweight the front too if you're unbolting the forks...makes sure everything is straight...do you have a front stand?

i say keep the front, raise the rear. use jackstands to unload the rear via your rearsets.

no, i was just gonna loosen the pinch bolts enough that i could swivel the fork tubes up by hand. not a good idea

the pegs fold, the rearsets don't...time to get creative!

drop the front just a few mm to see how you like it.
too much and you'll feel it in the turns...won't be very stable and will feel like it wants to slide out.
