Has anyone done the Mini/ShortyExhaust modification on our bikes? (F4i's) Any pictures and/or steps to follow?

 

Do a search on shorty exhaust in this forum and you will find a couple people that have done it.

 

why do people like those short exhausts anyways? just cause the R6 has it? i dont like it...[:'(]

Scorpion has a sweet looking GP style shorty for the F4i.

 

I just got done making a shorty can. I did it out of necessity really, I have a Two Bro's C4 that was scuffed/scratched up on one side because the bike went down. I don't have any pics yet though. I am kind of excited to hear it run, still haven't put everything back together yet and I am waiting on a PCIII. I am sure it will be louder, and I think it looks pretty good. The can doesn't even stick out past the rear wheel anymore, it really cleans up the look of the rear of the bike.

As far as how to do it, very easy. You just need a 3" cut-off wheel, 1'8" drill bit, and a rivet gun. Just drill out the rivets that hold the end "cap" on and pull it off. Decide how long you want the can to be and cut it with the wheel. (just make sure you cut it even or it will look like crap) Put the cap back on, drill new holes for the rivets, and rivet the cap on. Done. My can is just a little over half of what it used to be. If your can is older or you have rash on it like I did you can spin it around so the clean shiny side is showing again. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new one and it is something kind of unique.

 

People like the shorty cans because the look MotoGP style. They aren't copying the R6, its Yamaha that is copying the MotoGP style.

 

I personally like them because of the updated looks. I like the undertales better but I've seen the available conversion for the F4i's and it just doesn't look right, however the shorty is my next second choice....

im going to do mine with a carbon fiber micron... hopefully get it done this weekend gotta do it because the exhaust has a hole in it so i gotta cut it down =]

 

I want to buy the scorpion mini exhaust or ( what scorpion calls the street extreme) for my F4i but i don't know where to order it from online. help???
