I'm new to bikes and a lot of these things i do not expect or know. I was riding today and it was a warm day but while riding the seat and the area where my legs are are pretty hot. is it normal?

 

Yeah, on warmer days and at slower speeds, without the air circulating through, it can get pretty damn hot. After all, you're sitting on top of an engine, lol.

 

Yap. Pretty hot.
Try to drive with your 100PS+ car until the fan starts, open the hood, put a blanket on the engine and sit on it...

Not sure how geared up you are, but a strong jean or riding pant will help with the heat some.

Werd. I was very surprised (pleasantly) when I switched to leather riding pants...I thought I'd be hotter, but because of how much it shields from the engine heat I ended up more comfortable than otherwise.

 

Never heard of this problem on the F4i...know the R1 had a bad rep for the seat area gettin hot...maybe it was your squid shorts?...lol j/k.

 

I know about HOT, sometimes It gets to 115 here and the biek does not like it unless ur doing 85MPH, and like people have said before you are sitting on top of a motor( hahahahahaha
and yes the legs and the gas tank are the first things to get hot.
