He may HAVE in fact bought it from a dealership. But it wasn't stock or new. BUT however, my local dealership does once in awhile do a custom bike JUST to sell it. BRAND NEW.
In your case, they guy at best doesn't know. I'd ask him if he has the original plastics. The original color code sticker is in the tail.

You do bring up an interesting point with the dealership doing a custom bike. I hadn't thought of that. I guess this would be possible. Something didn't feel right so I passed on the bike. There are other F4I's out there to buy.
