Hey guys, I am brand new to the forum and I have a couple of questions. I recently purchased an 02 F4i and there are some parts that I am considering changing in the near future.

1) First, the upper cowl is cracked and the windscreen is gone. I will probably change this first. I am looking on ebay and see some from China that go for about $100 bucks (01 02 03 04 05 06 07 CBR600F4i nose front Top Fairing Upper Cowl unpainted black | eBay). Does anyone know about these? I am considering holding off till I see one matching my color scheme (silver & red) pop up on craigslist, that way I don't have to pay to get this sanded/painted which I expect will go for over $100 bucks easy.

2) Right rearview mirror- The mirror is gone on the right side. Are the OEM's really worth it over the generic pairs on ebay? I heard there is some blur at high speeds with the generics. ( HONDA CBR 600 F4 F4I Black Mirrors 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 1999 | eBay)

3) The gas tank is dented, and it is fairly deep. I doubt this can be popped out- does anyone know where the cheapest place to replace the tank is? Im guessing craigslist.

Also, any routine maintenance that I should consider doing? the bike has about 8,500 miles.

Post a wanted ad on craigslist a lot of people have parts or part bikes out that dont post every day I found a new motor for $250 that way.

As for the mirror find a company that imports that stuff from china much cheaper than the dealer you should be able to find one brand new for under $20 d2moto.com is where I got mine put I didn't see f4i mirrors on there site anymore

 

as for the mirrors, i too am looking for some, but i dont like the way they are so bubbly.
something with 3 edges all sharp would look great like my 2011 650r mirrors. am going to start looking to see if there is any adapters.

looks like those adapters allows for any stem type mirrors to be placed, there is other adapters as well, but those kuryakyn mirrors look nice

I see from the thread that aftermarket mirrors tend to blur; I think I am just going to stick to finding some OEM replacements even if it means spending a bit more.

Im in dire need of an upper cowl however. I do not want to buy the stuff from china and have it painted, I think it will cost well over 200 bucks together. Guess I will just sit around on craigslist till one pops up.

If anyone has a silver upper cowl for sale please let me know!

There is also this one, it's a bit more expensive but at least it ships from the US.

If anyone knows anything about either of these, please let me know. I need to replace the front cowl ASAP, no windscreen and the wind gust sucks
