Replacement Fairings
#21
I had it brought to my house today and I don't think buying it back and fixing it is in the cards. With the bars in the straight position the wheel is still about 1/2 way turned and pushed back - you can actually follow the forks with the imaginary line through the fairings and see how much they're bent. They may even be twisted.
Then there is the back wheel. I can't quite tell but it also looks bent. Not sure if it is the wheel or somehow the swingarm.
I haven't tried to start it yet but it wouldn't restart at the scene - probably the tip over sensor - the case still looks good and no oil leaking.
If everything works out I'll have my check by the end of the week for the bike, gear and add-ons. If I can't find another F4i local and get the OK from my better half, I may have some parts for sale soon...
@Doc Samson , it is tempting to look into yours but as of now buying is on hold.

Bringing this one back...
Found my old bike for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
I can tell it's mine by 3 for sure items.
1) Yellow wheels (the scuffs tell the story)
2) Blinkers in the passenger pegs
3) 954 tail.brake light
I've never seen another with 2 & 3 - which my current ride will be getting as well. I knew I should have pulled them off.
Facebook post changed but I found it and am adding pics direct just for future memories.
I can't believe he's asking $4500 with a salvaged title. He better be willing to come down a lot.
I'm going to ask him if he bought it and did the repairs or if he bought it from someone. I'll update if/when I find out.

Thought for sure you were going tell us you were going to buy it back!
I found a Tahiti Blue F4i a few months back (at a really good price) and gave it some serious consideration. After working on the FZ1 without needing to take off a bunch of plastic and taking it to the track, and feeling noticeably less tired at the end of the day, I decided to pass. Will always have a place in my heart and I still think the F4i/929/954 color schemes are the best!

He said he bought it from the auction and fixed it. I haven't asked him how much he paid, thought that mught be a little awkward, but I am curious.
I hear ya about removing all the fairings for maintenance, time consuming and they just don't seem to want top line up every time.
