i hope this is the right posting place for this question. if not please move it to the correct place.
i bought a 01 cbr f4i-paid in full. well its time to register it. when i was handed the tittle, the guy left the purchase price blank and said i could put in whatever amount i wanted to reduce all the fees and taxes. what should the minimum amount be? i was told to put put at least $100.00. but i still want others advise on this. thanks. edit: i live in colorado.

RE: registration advise
You can pretty much put in any amount that you want. They can't question you at the courthouse, and even if they did you could pretty much make up any story and they couldn't prove you wrong. I would say anywhere from 100-500. When I bought my bike I got it from a dealership so I didn't have that luxury of being able to put a lower price on the title! However, I just had a friend buy an 2001 929RR today and the guy he bought it from wrote 500 on the title. I live in Colorado too, what part are you from?

RE: registration advise
i had bought so many cars within the year and also bought a bike. Didn't want any troubles with the bike like i did with all the cars i purchased, i just wrote down what i paid for. But if you talked to the seller, ask if he will sign something saying that he did sell it to you for around $500. If he will, then you're golden. I bought a vehicle from my g/f's mom, and i wrote down as a gift, the dmv sent me a letter asking for the seller's signature, i brought it to her and she signed it. No prob's at all.....
