CT registration questions
so my insurance got cancelled over the winter, causing my registration to get cancelled(I was in a tough spot and couldnt make payments). Now I know I need to get insurance first. But does anyone know the process of getting the bike registered again? Does it need to be VIN checked? or inspected? does it need to be street legal? how much is it gonna cost me? what kind of forms should I be looking for from the DMV?
thanks!
thanks!

RE: CT registration questions
I think it depends on how old the bike is, I am 99% sure CT DOES NOT inspect vehicles anymore, although I had to have a VIN# inspection done because I was transferring an out-of-state title.
You will need proof of insurance and bill of saleand bring your old registration info with you, just in case...and at least 2 blank checks. Don't forgeta pen!!
Here is a helpful link:

And the "official" CT state DMV page:

Good Luck!! If you want to ride this weekend, PM me, or see this thread...

RE: CT registration questions
just go there with the old registration and plate, new insurance card and a check for them. YOu may have to reregister your bike and get new plates, you may need to bring the title too, just to save time of having to go home and get it.
You wont have any problems

RE: CT registration questions
hmm...thanks for the help guys
and the only problems with what you've said is I dont have a bill of sale or the title...since i bought it from a dealership and its still got a loan on it...hopefully my old registration, plate, and proof of insurance and a fat blank check will be enough...
and i would love to go riding this weekend...but well, IM NOT INSURED OR REGISTERED :-p
