Well I'm not concerned about saving a few bucks by putting the cheaper 87. The manual says anything higher than 86, it doesn't rule out 91 gasoline and what not. I also don't hear "pinging" or anything like that, so i might as well put a higher octane fuel and NOT BE CHEAP :P

P.S. Sorry for repost, was in a hurry to go ride so didn't bother searching

Tahoe SC pretty much explained why my crazyass uses 93 in cool weather and 89 on a warm day. Reason is, because of air density. With the 93 you need more dense air to have a good mixture with the ultra thin compound like the 93, and vise versa for the 89. 89 is thicker than 91-93 so it is harder to compress dense air into that mixture of fuel.

Just ****ing use what Honda tells you to do (which is 86/87). What makes you think you know better than the engineering department at the world's premier engine/automobile/motorcycle manufacturer?

Be done with it! Save the extra money and send it to me through PayPal!

whatever meng...use what you want...
take the bike to the dyno and run the two...
it's not about saving a few extra bucks...it's about what fuel gives optimal performance...
i just prefer facts proven by science and the engineering behind it, rather than i feel better because it costs more.
