Okay, looking to for a little advise on an opportunity that has come about. My buddy wants to trade his ’03 F4i for my ’99 R6. The only tricky part is that neither of these bikes are perfect by any means. I purchased my R6 about a year ago as a crashed race bike, I’ve since then bought a full fairing set, headlight assy, front rim, carbs, jets, had carb work done, passenger seat, rear fender assy, and I think that’s it, all around $3000 - $3300. I haven’t put any time into the bike because it’s like a read-headed stepchild to me, I have a ’97 F3 that I ride and also a weird attitude where I am very manufacture oriented to ride red (thus I like to ride my old F3 over the race ready R6). The F4i that my buddy has was just dropped (hard) about a month ago which wrecked quite a bit, but he’s done some work. He already has the bike back on the road after buying forks, rear rim, and mocked up an F3 can to fit. I’m pretty impressed by the bike and I know that it’s still good with low miles but it will still need plastic and a tank, I believe that’s all the bike needs. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that my funds will be crippled with my new budget that I’m about to make for a baby on the way (I’m gonna be broke). So now for the big question, IS THIS WORTH A TRADE?


P.S. I'm gonna test out the bike myself tonight and I can see it whenever I wish so if there's any issues that I should look for, I'd like the advise.

yeah i would think so upgrade man, f4i's are good bike and as long as the engine is cool man that **** will go for days. im sure you already know to look for major **** but if there is nothing major then i would go for it. i would way out which one you have to put more money into to have it going good and then make a decision. well thats all i got bro.

 

Well, It's mine! I got the F4i last night and he already has the R6 all back together. We're both happy and I can't wait to get this thing looking good.

 

flame me board...aside from the FI...i feel the R6 is a much better tracker/canyon dancer all around...when stock.

so stock for stock...i'd give it to R6...but cause of carbs, F4i...
