Default Trading?

I currently working with another user regarding a trade...my 2003 600RR for his 2003 954RR. The only mentionable mods on my bike are the Micron pipe and a flat rear tire.He as 11,000 miles. has full exhaust and pc3,vortex rear sets 1 down and 2 up sprockets.

Really have no idea what the rear sets, sprockets, or anything are. My concern mainly is the mileage...is thisa pretty even trade?

all depends if you want to upgrade to a bigger bike and he wants to get into a 600 then it's a good trade, the upgrades are nice, did he get it tuned after he got the full exhaust and PCIII i would ask that, also, ever been down.. 11K on the bike is nothing.. i had 3k when i bought mine, and i had 13-14 when i sold it and that was in one summer, these bikes can run a good 20k 30k if maintained, sprockets are nice i did that to mine, it really makes first gear short, i would ask for the stock ones too, put both on and see what u like better.. i would ride it before you buy it but go with your gut instinct, but i thnk it's a good trade, i would do it if i felt right about the whole thing, 11k wouldnt scare me, the reason why he would want to go down to a 600 would more then the miles

A 2003 600rr for a 2003 954rr?
I would do it as long as the bike is in as good as the shape of your 600. How many Kms/Miles does yours have? Have either bike been dropped? What type of noticable damage can you see if any? Does he have paper work for any maintance done on the bike?
As for the Kms, 11K isnt bad for an 2003, I have 22000Km on my 2003 954 and still running great and I have no problems keeping up with the bigger bikes.
Oh, another question, have you asked him why he wants to trade his 954 for your 600? Maybe the 954 is just too much for him or maybe he wants a 600 for track days or something, who knows.
I'd get all these questions answered fist before I would make a decision and check back on here and see what other 954 owners think!!!
Good luck

are you military? just wondering because of your avatar?

As I understand it, the guy wants to run a 600 this summer on the track in addition to another 1000 size bike he owns. The 954 trade would allow him to run both a 600 and 1000. The main thingI was worrying about was the fact that I'm trading a bike with 4500 miles for one with 11,000.

4,500 is just "broken in" for most bikes so 11K doesnt' seem so bad. All the upgrades on his seem almost worth it as well.

As for me, yes I'm military. The aircraft in the background of my avatar is a CH47 Chinook. That's what I fly. It ain't really the prettiest in the Army but it's fast and can lift a whole lot!

yeah it's a straight trade man the 954 is sweet but if you really want a 600 then it's fair... if you don't want a 600 then its sort of a neutral trade knowadimean?

dont sweat the miles, i put over 80k on my last 2 bikes and still ran great as long as you take care of them. Make sure he took care of his, then do what everyone else said as well.
