Quick Fuel Filter Replacement Questions
I couldnt find a how to so had some quick questions:
1> Do I need washers to change the filter? (I need to do it before a weekend ride so cant wait for parts
). The only place where the manual mentioned a washer was while relieving the fuel pressure with a screw.... cant I just wait an hour or so for the pressure to disappear after switching off?
2> Do I need to clip any fuel lines while turning the tank upside down? How to avoid getting fuel all over the place?
Thanks...

technically you do not have to remove the any of the gas lines when doing this, but you will need a new gasket, the one that holds the pump to the bottom of the tank. reusing will cause it to leak. to remove the fuel filter all you need is a wrench and some patience. it's just some clips (like the ones used for the radiator lines) holding the filter in place.
K thanks... I'll try to get the gasket... the shop should recommend it everytime someone gets a filter...
I thought I'd have to turn the tank over to avoid the fuel inside from spilling when I took off the pump... which would mean removing the hoses...?
