Default Question on Tail Light

I ordered a smoke Tail light to install on my bike, problem is that I have a weird undertail and the turn signals aren't integrated they're there own buib. Plus I don't have holes to install it from, any suggestions?

So did you order an OEM style smoked tail light or one that is supposed to fit that undertail? If it's an OEM style looks like you would have to modify the undertail to accept the larger style light.

From the look of it you seem to have a split seat 01-03 bike with an aftermarket undertail with two LEDs in it. If you want to put a stock style tail light in there you would have to swap to an undertail and uses the stock light or swap to a stock under tray.

Good luck

Just FYI, Smoke taillights are not legal in Cali...

Are you missing covers/lenses for the lights? looks like there should be a lens that snaps into the notches on the light housing.

I bought the bike like this, I know for a fact these are aftermarket fairings and I know for a fact now that, the tail light will not fit. Does anyone know where I can get a under tray that will work with that back end as I just got the bike and don't want to spend money on new fairings yet in case of dropping the bike. My plan to order stock oem fairings if possible will be later this year and I really want to change the tail lights. I jimmy rigged the ones up right now so they're both working but it wont hold for long. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I was getting ready to order a smoke taillight for my bike. I live in San Diego. Guess I will go clear. Don't want a reason for the cops to pull me over!

You could install a factory OEM '01-03 battery tray/undertail & use the factory tail light...or cut it back & install a dif brand of undertail/FE.

The undertail piece is an addon, or aftermarket but that does not mean your fairings are not OEM, alot of ppl change the undertail with aftermarket, you would need the stock or another undertail which allows the use of the stock taillight.
