QUALIFERS vs PILOT
Iam trying to figure out how good certain tires are. I heard that the Qualify tires are great...but wear out a faster than standard. and Pilots are good in same way but aren't as sticky. My question is...how good is each tire in your experiences? I ride as often as I can and want the most for my money Iam looking at a track day which I heard becomes a ADDICTION.....oh I cant wait. Any responses are appriciated.
Heard and read the same thing. Sport Rider mag did a great write up on all the tires. The Qualifiers were tops in grip but only edged out the PP's by a slim margin. I went with the PP's since their wear life was much better than the Dunlops. I'd say if you got the cash to buy tires often and are doing track days, go with the Dunlops, otherwise go with the PP's.
I havent had the Q's to the track yet, but they seem to stick great at a street pace. Yes the track is addictive as hell. I will attest to the Q's wearing fast though. Substantially faster than the 208ZR's I used to run.
thanks for the input...I read an article about the tires and was just wondering about other peoples take on the tires. The Q,s seem to be a little more advanced and wear quicker than the Pilots.
i have had both and the pilots are better all the way around. you said they are not as sticky but your wrong they have softer rubber and corner better. i would not lie to you man. get em and see.look at th side walls and you will see that the pp are more steight up and down that the flater Q's.
