Default Please help, bike almost didn't start this morning!!

So I did everything normal as I do each day I go to work, put key in ignition, turned it on and waited for numbers to hit 0, turn engine on, wait till I hear pump stop and FI light turns off, and then hit the starter. Only nothing happened? I just kinda sat there dumbfounded, battery is less than 2 months old and I ride her everyday literally . So anyways I turn everything off, repeat what I always do and this time she hesitated but started. Now I'm at work and off in the next hour and kinda worried she won't start for some reason lol so any advice/help is more than appreciated! It's an 03 f4i with 5800 on the clock

Sounds like your battery is on the fritz. If I had to guess I'd say your voltage regulator was out and it's overcharging the battery, causing it to fail over time. I just went thru something similar. Grab a voltage meter and measure the bikes battery levels when it's running at idle and at 5000 rpm. Shouldnt be lower than 12.5 volts or higher than 14.5 volts.

Mkay I have a multimeter, just put the two things on their respective colors(pos/neg) I assume? Still new to mechanic side of things lol. Is it normal for a regulator to go after such little miles? I had a 96 cbr and I know those were known to have bad r/r, but the f4i is still a baby thanks btw!

Make sure the battery cables are tight. Loose connections are the comon fault for threads like this. If they're good and tight, we will move on to the system diagnostics. But check them first.

It's pouring out(makes for a fun ride) so I'll have to check connections once it clears up, thanks demon! I'm sure it's something stupid like that. I was able to start her and get home, was a little sluggish but started first push of the starter button
