i didnt try anything while it was all together because of the bad battery, but the only thing i disconnected was the headlights anyway. the FI light is dim when the key is out, when i put the key in and start it the only lights on the gauges are neutral and FI, nothing else works

Hm ok well Im not sure how to get the error code for whats causing the fi light to come on. I always assumed when you turned the key to on the fi light would flash a certain number of times automatically to tell you what the problem was. Try putting the kickstand down and turning the bike on see if it flashes and gives you a code then, thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

Heres the manual you can download and read through if you dont have one. Hopefully you can find some useful info in there. If not im sure someone will come along soon enough that can be of help.

well nice to meet you then nick b. haha yeah i always see people looking for them and always forget where i got mine from but a quick search solved that mystery, i figured it might be useful. Hmmm i had 2 at one point when i was trying to fix my ignition and only one had the wiring diagram in it. Let me see if i can find that.

Sorry if its the same thing as the last link i sent but i know i downloaded one from this site at some point in time so hopefully this is it.

damn i couldve sworn it was one of those. yeah youd figure itd be in there but i guess they decided to leave that for the service/repair manual. Im trying to think of where the hell i got my wiring diagram from then

you can use this the meantime if you havent already http://www.tunedinnovations.com/F4iH...elayWiring.gif but the one in the manual was obviously a lot better

Look in the general tech section. At the top, stickied is a manual site with f4i manuals with diagrams. I would link you but I'm on my phone
