Talking Picked up 2001 F4I

Hi guys, just picked up a new bike last weekend. 2001 F4I with 18,500 miles. Had a ninja 500r that I bought this spring put 5300 miles on that and sold it, then went and got this one the next day. Unfourtunly I havent been able to ride it much because i discovered the right front rotar is warped, and the caliper is sticking.
I drove it home that night and it seemed fine, drove it the next two days and noticed the brakes rubbing at low speeds and could hear it barely at high way speeds. So went home, tore it down and discovered the problem. now I'm waiting on the parts to come in to fix it. I wanna ride lol.

Left side has a little rash, I got a new oem fairing coming in to fix that. I put shorty levers on it, and and waiting on a zg double bubble windscreen. Bike runs good, it does have the cctl rattle, I'm thinking of going to a ape tensioner to fix that. changed the oil in it when I got it. I have no clue what kind of exhaust it has, Its gutted and shortened, they welded it back together and painted it black. Looks like the front fairing was replaced at one point to. I cant wait to ride it more, kills me more everyday it sits in my driveway.

Thanks, I ordered mirrors for it and they will be in tomorrow, didn't have any on it when i bought it. Po said it fell on his lawn, and hit a table on the way down managing to break both the mirrors.
I always make sure to wear my gear too, wont go without it- seen way to many people go down and wind up with severe road rash and injuries when it could have been prevented

Welcome to the forum! Bike looks great! Hopefully you'll get the parts in soon so you can ride! I know the feeling of having a bike that you can't ride lol

Also, would you be willing to sell your stock windscreen whenever you get your double bubble? I need one haha

Looks nice. I kinda like what they did with that exhaust

Oh and I have them same shorty levers there great. Shifts quick and smooth on my 05. Where did you order the OEM fairing from? I just got my Chinese 2001 tail for my seat conversion. It's not painted or anything and it was a ton cheaper than OEM. Anxious to see how its gonna fit and look on the bike

thanks guys, I got the mirrors on, and the wind screen, and the new calipers. Just waiting on the rotor now, I ordered it from power-sports plus and it wasn't in stock so its taking forever to get it. Its so badly warped that when I move the bike it pushes the piston back in and I have to pump the brake up to get pressure again. otherwise it holds firm pressure till I move the bike lol.

Oh and the fairing is a used one with a small scuff in the clear coat on the very bottom of it, below the honda decal on the bottom. only paid 45 bucks for it so I figured I can wet sand and buff it if I wanted to, you can only see it if you know its their though.

If you want it, the windscreen isn't perfect, has a scuff on the out side and was painted black on the inside, kind of weathered to.
I can post a picture of it tomorrow if you wanted to see it.

That's one warped rotor! :O

You might want to pick up a chain guard too, to prevent chain lube from slinging onto the back of your pant leg & boot. ;-)

yeah it's pretty bad, can see the mark where it hits. What bugs me the most is the guy i bought it off said it was ready to ride, barely got to put a 100 miles on it when the rakes started to make noise. You can see marks on the rotor when you look closely where he tried to pry it straight, so he obviously knew about it. Yeah chain guard is on the list to, dont like the thought of a chain breaking and chopping my foot off, looks cleaner with one on to.
