Again, your argument is that it's not done and the fact that it's not done is a reason to not do it. In other words, you're saying, "we do it that way cause that the way we've always done it."

Last year I had a brand new tire on the back. 1 week after I got it on I got a nail in it. I pluged it. I ran that same tire for 7 months and around 6k miles on the tire, plus a track day. Pluging tires are fine. If you dont want the tire mail it to me.

Yes, WOT I am mocking you, but in good fun though. I respect your opinion on alot of things and have read many of your posts, but I ask that you present evidence rather than tradition. You continually fail to do so.
Now I agree that in the absence of scientific data, we have no reason to change the tradition, but as a general rule, "always challenge dogma".

plugs are not to be used in a sport bike tire
a plug will not match the rubber compound of the tire and will not react to heat/stress in the same way as the rest of the tire
evidence is unattainable bc every tire is made from a different rubber compound
as for the manual - who keeps their bike under 75?

get a new tire. its much cheaper the a hospital bill for broken legs and arms. and possibly death. A blow out on a car isn't a big deal, on a bike you are asking for serious injury or death. Some of the patches don't hold up very well, I would be very weary!

I have two plugs in my back tire with several thousand miles in it. No problems, none!
If there were issues with plugging bike tires, they would not make plug kit specific to bikes!
Motorcycly tires are different than car tires, but they are still steel belted, and don't just "BLOW OUT". Worse that would happen with a plug failure is a slow leak.
Why do people make motorcycle maintenance hard? Change your oil every thousand miles, tires every 3k, only a mechnic changes my oil, change chain at 6k, sprockets at 12k, blah, blah...
This is the year 2008 not 1950. We ride Honda not Harley. Even then, I bet our boys in WWII repaired a tire or two.
The bikes are built to take and withstand it all folks.
