opinions on lowering
Got the wife an EX250 which has a seat height of 29.3" inches and I think the F4i is about 2-2.5" taller. I was wondering, and I've seen many female riders on this forum, if lowering 2" is safe on these bikes. My secret plan is to give her my bike in a year, and upgrade to the RR or Daytona. Any thoughts?

RE: opinions on lowering
I'm 5'1".. I also have the f4i. I lowered my bike 1" with lowering links. Then raised the front forks. No probs and I tip toe on one side.
My ninja, on the other hand, was lowered by two inches at least and it helped gain confidence while learning how to ride. After a while riding and getting to know a bike, I don't think it needs to be lowered as much. My f4i is lowered at a minimum- handles great.

if your comfortable with the 600 the rr is going to offer you better suspension and a more aggressive riding position with alittle more power not to mention its lighter. For the wife i would just lower the rear and inch and set her suspension to her weight that will help her out alot.

you have to remember that these bikes were made perfect, and that if you mess with suspension and lowering the bike, more stuff will not work as well, ie lean angles, and stuff scraping more. If she is just going to use it to cruise around, thats a good reason for her since she is small, but if you are carving through the mountains, your more likely to grab a peg and liable to crash

What about if you lowerd the back and never rasied the front forks. Would you noticed a diffence? Between raiseing up the front forks or not? And if you did rasie them how much? I heard like 5mm what does that equal in inches?...I'm also short and it's hard to do burn out with out both feet planted on the ground...No problem riding but was thinking of lowering it a inch also
