Default oops, put in a quart too much oil

so i'm a dumbass. don't ask me how this happened... just went braindead as i was putting in the oil.

I put 4.5 quarts in instead of 3.5 during my last oil change. put about 10 miles on the bike and it started acting funny. she felt like she had 2 flat tires and weighed about 200 pounds more.

i drained the extra quart out of her and she started to go back to normal... but she's been hesitating a lot in first gear. she's been that way for the past 100 miles.

what do you think? anyone else do this?

change the plugs? think i did any damage?

pull your plugs to see how they look...they may be covered in oil.

It feels funny and acts funny because it probally still has oil in the intake runners and is floating around in the vaccum hoses...It possibly soaked the air filter depending on where the hoses attach to the air box..Id check that and the plugs..

Hurt anything major ,i doubt it.May run funny and smoke a little but should clear out..

I know in the old days car motors use to unseat rings when too much oil was added but those days are long gone.

I'd take it out and open it up really good... Should clean everything up pretty good. Also check your intake to see if it's caked...May need to grab a brush and some throttle body cleaner and clean up anything you can reach thru your intake.

air filter eh? i'll crack it open and take a look. i figured the air filter and engine oil would have nothing to do with each other... weird...

With enough oil, you would be amazed at where it can go..

Well i know on most cars theres a tube from the valve cover into the intake tube or intake.

I don't know if its the same with bikes but more then likely there might always be oil inside your intake/intake piping//throttle bodies, thats just the way it is. That's why when you take off your intake you might see a bit of oil on the TB.
