Default RE: Castrol 10w-40 Full Synthetic, Mobil M-110 Oil Filter

Mobil1 10w-40 and 15w-50 is not "energy conserving" IIRC. Mobil1 10w-30 and below is.

I use amsoil fully synthetic, and a k and n filter, but have heard about scotts oil filter, its pricey but reusable and is basically insurance for your bike, you dont want to get cheap with oil, because lets face it oil is farely cheap

at 110/barrel, oil is not cheap.

as far as protection...there's more to it than just oil brand mang...

amsoil is by far the best and you can keep it longest in your motor without changing it out as long as you also have a great filter.

the other oils would protect just as well, but will shear down much faster than amsoil.

Regular M1, 10w-40 and above will work just fine. And if you don't trust me, look on the back of the bottles at the SAE label thing. I took a look when I was at Wal-Mart and saw that the 10w-40 and 15w-50 were NOT marked Energy Conserving while, the 5w-30 was....to be honest I forget what the 10w-30 was, but what ever it was it surpized me so that leads me to believe that it was not Energy Consverving....

OK, here is the deal. Purolator PL14610 filter, better than Honda's and half the price. Shell Rotella T Synthetic, for diesel 5/40 top oil, low $$.

Here is the research to back it up.

+1 on the Shell. Awesome stuff for a great price! $16 a gallon for full synthetic... can't beat it! I actually like it better than Repsol full synthetic.

Well the regular car oil has molybidium which is a friction aditive enhancer. Since we have a wet clutch it might cause it to slip.
