Oil changes...
... what kind of oil is everyone using these days...
...does anyone have a manuel on how to change the oil on a F4i?
...I'm going to do change my oil & filter within a week, so post up and give some help
I'll also take photos to post up for others with this same question, or for people who want to actually start "tinkering" with their own bikes (I figure this is a good place to start for them)...

RE: Oil changes...
I've heard so many pros and cons for synthetic oil that I said hell with it. I figure you can't go wrong with basic Honda motorcycle oil. As far as a how-to, you can check out this link: http://www.bossturbo.com/cbr/howto_oilchange.shtml

RE: Oil changes...
I use convential oil and have been for 5-6 years on this bike. No problems. Anything that meets the specs of the engine will work. Just check the labels. As for changing it, that's easy. The drain plug is on the bottom of the bike along the exhaust in front of the back wheel. The filler area is on the right side. And the filter can be removed from the front between the fairings and headers. I just did mine 2 days ago and it took me about 15 min. Good Luck!

I only use Mobil 1 Racing 4T Synthetic>>
I have run it for years in my '97 F3 and it has performed very well. I also use it in my Honda Ch80 and my Honda Recon. Just recently bought my F4i, and changed my oil with it the very next day. It is about $7/ quart, but I only do an oil change once a year so it's not too expensive.
Everything I have read tells me that long term, the protection is far superior...

At 9500 miles and using GN4 non-synthetic. May switch to synthetic sooner or later.

i use anything i can get my hands on that's within spec. frequent oil changes is the key!!!
don't believe all the type going around about oil...
if you use syn...you can go longer without oil change. if you use bike specific dino oil...do them at regular intervals...if you use car dino oil (conventional 10/40), i wouldn't go more than 3K on it.
this is the conclusion that i've come to based on hundreds of hours of research, personal experience, blackstone lab analysis, and thousands of hours of arguing on discussion boards. still people will tell you different...cause that's just the way it is.
so...don't believe the hype...do the research for yourself. a great place to start is www.bobistheoilguy.com
