I found this chart this morning doing a little extra research and it was pretty helpful. According to the true purolator filters the part numbers are PL14610 and PL14612 for the F4i. One is long and one is short. apparently the purolator with the ML # is not authentic or some b.s. ?? No clue not saying anyone is wrong b/c it says at the bottom it will work it just isnt a pureone i guess? Thanks all for your help. will be doing this change today!

Here's the link for the chart ...http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/FilterXRef.html <<< maybe sticky it or something to help everyone search for filter #'s for the future...if there isnt already one

When I change my oil I just head over to Wal-Mart and grab the Rotella T and turn around and grab a SuperTech oil filter... http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Consumables.html

I would not be quick to sticky that chart. So we're talking Purolator filters...right? OK...no prob, so I go to the company's website...select my regions by clicking on Purolator United States of America, takes me to this region. I select "Motorcycle" for Products and it tells me for my Honda CBR 600F4i 2001-2006 I need to use ML16817 so dude please do not tell me it is not authentic, check your facts before posting garbage about authenticity and then to refer to a third-party site that's what? To know more about a manufacturer's product than the manufacturer themselves???

Here's the Application Guide pulled literally from Purolator so you can fact-check my post. Enjoy...

Haha I had the same exact problem a few days ago K7 except you were brave enough to make the thread. The search engine can't search "oil" for some reason. I've used mobil1 before and I'm not a fan...at least from my experience. Anyone here use repsol or amsoil for the F4i??

Stick with what the manufacturer recommends.
Check the purolator web site. The filter listed for the F4i (PL14610) is the same exact on listed for the Civic (PL14610). So whats the difference? You can run all the marathons you want. Your analogy does not apply.
